THE GREEN INITIATIVE
Solar reduces air pollution, it reduces water pollution and solar also reduces the need for infinite resources. Solar energy is renewable. The Sun is the world's most abundant energy source, producing an amazing 173,000 terawatts of solar energy every second. That's more than 10,000 times the world's total combined energy use, and it can be used over and over again.
At Gaeta, we are very proud of our fleet and our service style. We know that a good deal of our growth in the past years has been due to the meticulous care we take in keeping our fleet and our equipment freshly painted and squeaky clean. After all, our trucks are the face of our business to the general public and our valued customers. We have also put 6 new trucks on the road which gives us the largest and newest fleet on Staten Island.
Everyone knows that commercial trucks can consume tremendous quantities of fuel. To further reduce our carbon footprint, we use route efficiency measures, GPS tracking and a productive tire program.
While we've always recycled, our efforts have until recently been primarily focused on cardboard. But we are now doubling our efforts on plastic and metal collection and as a result we are progressively recycling more material every day.
To further make use of the material that enters the yard, we've begun setting aside all the solid lumber, brick, and steel that comes to us from demolition and construction sites. All of which can be re-purposed for a variety of uses.
